Second Tom Nixon Memorial Fly Swap, 2004

Renegade

The Renegade is not a pattern original to Tom Nixon but he included it in all editions of his book Fly Tying and Fly Fishing for Bass and Panfish", since it is an effective panfish fly even thougnh it was originally tied as a trout fly. The original version was a The wet fly which then developed into the familiar dry fly. The version here is a bead head wet fly version.

Body: Peacock herl
Rear hackle: Grizzly or cream hackle
Front hackle: Brown hackle
